Diversity and Inclusion in Human Subjects Research The Human Research Protection Program is hosting a workshop for faculty, staff, and students about Diversity and Inclusion in Human Subjects Research. The workshop will provide an overview of the history of diversity and inclusion in research and offer tips to researchers on how they can design their research to increase diversity and promote inclusion. Presenters are Jennifer Engle, HRPP Director, and the IRB Assistant Compliance Officers. The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one day prior. HRPP/IRB Town Hall for the College of Nursing The Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development, Division of Research Integrity and Assurance, is hosting a forty-five virtual HRPP/IRB town hall meeting for the College of Nursing on November 1, 2021, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET. The purpose of the town hall meeting is to provide information on process changes, staffing updates, and the many proactive adjustments we are making to serve our research faculty in a more streamlined and efficient manner. The topics to be presented include: 1. Positive adjustments made to the HRPP and IRB review process and how those changes benefit faculty performing research 2. Update on HRPP staffing – current and future plans 3. Educational programming and opportunities in 2021 and 2022 4. Overview of HRPP metrics 5. Brief overview of the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP), explanation of how this accreditation benefits faculty performing research, and what to expect during an AAHRPP accreditation visit There will be a brief question and answer period to allow for meaningful engagement between faculty and our office. HRPP/IRB Virtual Town Hall for the College of Communication and Information The Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development, Division of Research Integrity and Assurance, will host a one-hour virtual HRPP/IRB town hall meeting for the College of Communication and Information on December 6 at 8:30 a.m. and December 8 at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time. You only need to attend one session; however, you are welcome to join both.
