Topics include the regulatory criteria for exempt research, expedited studies, and full board review. As a compliance refresher and overview of the IRB process at UTK, this session is ideal for faculty, graduate students, and post-docs.

PIVOT is a streamlined research funding search engine for faculty, post-docs, and graduate students. In this session, participants will learn best practices for building a tailored PIVOT profile with weekly, automated alerts to track funding opportunities.

The University’s main research office ORIED requires new hires to submit a strategic research agenda by the end of fall 2024. This first session in a series of three begins the process by reviewing the basic tenants of a strategic research funding plan with core funding opportunities, staggered research projects, and multi-year planning to advance their research, scholarship, and/or creative activities.
