Fall Training 2025: Empower Your Skills with OIT Supported Technologies

In this 30-minute session, instructors and staff will have the opportunity to learn about new functionality in Canvas, as well as best practices that have brought success in other instructors' courses. This workshop will be a free-flowing demonstration of best practices in Canvas course design, as well as tips and tricks for editing copied courses more efficiently. Whether new to Canvas or a seasoned veteran, attendees will come away from the session with at least a few new bits of knowledge that will make their Canvas lives a little easier.

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Utilize Discussion Checkpoints, Assignment Bulk Due Dates, the new Files area, and more.
• Organize Canvas courses using the Course Menu so that it is more efficient.
• Identify ways in which a Canvas course inherited from a colleague or department can be optimized and updated relatively quickly.
• Manage storage of documents, multimedia, and other course files using the Files system.
• Identify course file quota and what affects and does not affect a course’s storage quota each semester.

This is an instructor focused workshop and only faculty/staff or GTAs may enroll.
